The Software department is responsible for the software development for intelligent robotic milking systems, feeding systems and other products. The embedded systems run on different hardware platforms, for instance Infineon C166 and Linux ARM. Engineers are used to working in a broad technical perspective. That means that the software engineer is actively involved in the start of the development cycle and innovatively reacts to user demands and does not let go until the product is entirely released.
The Embedded Software Engineer is responsible for the development and maintenance of robotic milking operating systems and other autonomous robots in the stable. Your main tasks will be:
- Conceive out-of-the-box operating systems within multi-disciplinary teams;
- Design, implement and unit test embedded software;
- Maintenance of existing embedded software;
- Setup test procedures together with the Test Department.
- BSc or MSc in a relevant technical discipline.
- Specialized in technical software.
- Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java.
- Experience with object oriented methods.
- Experience with real-time operating systems.
- Experience with different microcontrollers, for example Infineon C166, PowerPC, ARM.
- Knowledge of component based software engineering.
- Knowledge of networks and protocols, such as CAN, Ethernet.
- Knowledge of robotized / automated mechatronic systems.
- Preference, knowledge and experience with artificial intelligence and / or control technology.
- Experience with field support is a plus.
- Experience with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams is a plus.
- Good command of the English language is required.
