DS&C handles 1,500 repair and maintenance jobs annually.

Prepare civil designs and adapt them to different customer requirements, prepare specifications and calculate costs through close collaboration with other departments within Damen. 

Department Information

Damen Services is responsible for conducting a wide range of activities worldwide and on a commercial basis, arising from the start-up, deployment and life time extension of installations/ships delivered. Commissioning, repairs, warranty, service and maintenance activities are the most notable. The Area Service Teams serve as the single point of contact in this global matrix organisation for our customers, and they fulfil a crucial role in achieving company objectives and customer satisfaction.    

Tasks and responsibilities  

• Preparation of designs, technical specifications and delivery in the context of pre-qualification, tender offers, offers and presentations, taking into consideration current market changes, delivery terms and exchange rates;
• Consultation with many parties in order to achieve an optimised design (research and engineering partners, Engineering, suppliers, subcontractors, etc;
• Monitor progress in the pre-sales phase;
• Setting up project planning (milestones), determine cost price additional/less work, preparation of list of deviations, list of producers and other customer-specific information.

Design & Proposal Engineer Services Special Projects Job Requirements

• At least HBO (Higher Vocational Education) working and thinking level;
• HBO degree or completed University education in Civil Engineering;
• Preferably a minimum of 3-5 years relevant work experience;
• Good command of Dutch and English in written and verbal forms;
• Accurate;
• Customer-oriented, both internally and externally;
• Good communication skills;
• Ability to set priorities and to work efficiently.
