Applications Services performs space system and software engineering for the European Space Agency (ESA), National Space Agencies and the space industry. We are involved in international unmanned and manned spacecraft programmes. We require staff, wishing to join our team to work in a dynamic international environment for the following position:
Attitude and Orbit Control System (AOCS) Engineer (ENGSERV-AOCS-2012-05)
Task and Responsibilities
The work will be centered at the European Space Research and Technology Center (ESTEC) at Noordwijk, The Netherlands, within the Control Systems and Sensors Section of the Control Systems Division. The position will include the following tasks & responsibilities:
An appropriate scientific or engineering degree is required. Applicants shall also have a solid technical background and at least 5 years work experience in relevant fields of AOCS sensor and actuator design (electronic, software, general unit design and sensor principles) and their use in the AOCS subsystem.
The candidate shall have technical and management skills to support the development of attitude sensors and actuators in the frame of R/D contract and support to projects, as well as practical hands-on skills to support the laboratory work. Exposure to relevant ECSS quality standards would be beneficial.
Ability to operate in a team environment, good interpersonal, reporting and communication skills, as well as an excellent command of spoken and written English are also required.
