Graduate Electronics Engineer – Cambridge Job Description

An exciting opportunity has been created within our multi-disciplinary Electronics Engineering Team for a Graduate Electronics Engineer, based in our Cambridge Technology Centre.

The Electronics Engineering Team develop a range of systems from high voltage analogue drivers, integration of ISM band RF modules, to high speed controllers for instrumentation, measurement and control systems.  We are looking to recruit an innovative, adaptable and talented Graduate Electronics Engineer with excellent organisational and communication skills, both written and spoken.

You will be a highly motivated Engineer, able to perform the design of electronic circuits for a range of sensors, controllers and accessories.  The instruments will typically also include digital processor circuitry and communications interfaces.

With B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electronics (or equivalent) and proven experience gained within a commercial/industrial environment of designing analogue circuits, you will design and develop analogue systems, ensuring EMC compliance, and use your knowledge and experience in Orcad schematic design and circuit simulation/analysis to enhance the team’s effectiveness.

The role of Graduate Electronics Engineer is to contribute to the development of electronics systems for Elektron’s instrumentation and monitoring/control products.

Responsibilities include:

• Prototyping and testing of electronics

• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust system solutions and products ready for manufacture
• Work with Marketing and Production, to ensure products meet market and production requirements

Person Specification Skills, Experience and Knowledge:

• Knowledge ofschematic design, circuit simulation/analysis
• Testing and evaluation of electronic circuits and components
• Use of lab tools including SMT soldering, and oscilloscopes
• Ability to produce technical documentation to support all activities
• Strong organisational skills
• Ability to follow instruction
• Flexibility in tasks undertaken
• Able to work individually or as part of a team

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electronicsor equivalent
• Ability to read, write and speak fluent English
