Refrigeration Global Business Segment Senior Director (m/f) Job Description
Danfoss has clearly identified the Refrigeration business as one of the key focus areas for the Commercial Compressors Division. The investments being made in the global emerging and mature markets will drive the growth of this segment. Danfoss wants to create a focused organization that is dedicated to drive the growth of Commercial Compressors in this segment and for this purpose is looking for a Senior professional from the Refrigeration industry. As a key member of the Marketing & Strategy team, you will be responsible for creating and executing the Refrigeration business strategy for the Commercial Compressors division.
This would involve creating a solid roadmap for Commercial Compressors' profitable growth for the future.
Key tasks
- Develop a 5 year business plan – growth, profitability, market share gain, mfg. footprint
- Understand and map the different segments in the Refrigeration market – size, growth, profitability potential, ease of entry etc.
- Map the product needs that can address the suitable segments by region. This would involve deep understanding of the unmet needs of the customer and developing the right product specification/cost points to be able to compete effectively. Include Electronics as a key element of the product strategy. Map resources that are needed to achieve objective
- Create a solid product positioning strategy for our different technologies (reciprocating, scrolls, condensing units, others) by each geography
- Understand the implications that will happen due to the regulatory changes happening in certain markets – F gas regulations, energy standards etc and develop our strategy
- Ensure that we have the right distribution strategy by each major geography that is aligned with our business needs
- Assess global markets and recommend strategic partnerships to expand our product portfolio
- Work closely with other Danfoss divisions which have businesses in the refrigeration segment and leverage our group strength
- Work closely with our DR sales team to provide necessary sales support tools and application engineering support needed

Your profile
- Bachelor or Masters in Engineering
- MBA from a reputed institution desirable
- 15 years plus experience in the Refrigeration industry an absolute must
- Experience working in an international set up and OEM sales environment
- Effective communication capability utilizing, spoken, written and graphic media.
- Fluent in English (TOEIC 850)
- Customer and business oriented
- High level of communication skills
- Above average skills on powerpoint and excel
- Able to work in a matrix organization & complex environment
- Multitask
- Task Driven
It is estimated that on a 25 % time basis on average, the position will require travel.
The position requires interaction with internal and external functions at customers at different organisational levels in the areas of engineering, technical field support, sales & marketing.
