Area Sales Manager TPS Central Territories Job Description

• Handles sales of Varian’s Eclipse Treatment Planning software solution in the assigned territories.
• Handles both direct sales and support for the local area sales managers where a treatment planning system is a component of a wider equipment or software solution offer.
• Prepares quotations and tenders based on specifications and price lists and in close co-operation with Regional Software Sales Manager and local sales managers as appropriate.
• Maintains frequent contact with existing and potential customers, by organizing product demonstrations for customers, attending symposia and meetings and assessing their requirements.
• Develops and maintains relationships with relevant Government Health Service and private bodies.
• Collects customer, industry and competitor information in order to report business needs and monthly forecasts and makes recommendations for the development of business and market strategies.
• Maintains information on all customers and products.
• Builds productive internal/external working relationships

Area Sales Manager TPS Central Territories Job Requirements

• Bachelors Degree (or equivalent experience).
• Education in medical physics with a deep technical and clinical understanding of the treatment planning process in radiotherapy and modern planning techniques such as IMRT, IGRT and Volumetric Arc Therapy (VMAT). 
• 5+ years of related experience in the sale of treatment planning software products with a solid track record of success. Experience of modern radiotherapy treatment techniques and the associated treatment planning process in essential. A marketing/product management background in treatment planning systems will also be considered
• Alternatively, the candidate will have minimum 5 years experience as a medical physics professional working within the planning department of oncology centres or will have worked for one of the leading suppliers of radiotherapy treatment planning systems.
• The candidate will need to gain a sound understanding and application of contract structuring, composition and contract negotiation and application of VMS business processes and procedures. This will include the production of detailed quotations and financial proposals that will be negotiated with the customers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are therefore essential. 
• Fluent in English. 
• Other language/s highly desirable
• Extensive travel 60 – 70% throughout Central & Territories area as per defined territory
