Description
Elsevier Science’s Operations produces various scientific databases, such as Embase, PharmaPendium and Reaxys. Indexing and excerption of data add value to these bibliographic and factual databases, such that a more efficient and consistent retrieval of the desired information is possible. The Content Quality Management Department, as part of the Content Enrichment Center within Elsevier Operations, is responsible for the quality of the indexes of the databases. These indexes can be generated automatically or manually.

Smart Content is content enhanced to be fit-to-purpose. In other words, content is organized and structured for customer tasks & needs, is suitable for in-depth analytics and is enhanced with additional semantic data.The Content Quality Management Department is involved in development of the next generation content capabilities.
A vacancy has arisen in the Content Quality Management Department in Amsterdam for an information specialist who will be involved in assessing and guiding the improvement of text extraction and indexing done by external and internal suppliers (both manual and automatic) and who will be involved in Smart Content Development. Successful candidates will have a degree in sciences, are fluent in English, have good communication skills, and have affinity with indexing and taxonomies.
Key Result Areas
Ensure high-quality delivery of both manually and automatically indexed materials and actively participate in the development of Smart Content.
