SAP Next Business and Technology is the global research and innovation unit of SAP. The group anticipates and explores emerging IT trends and transfers innovations into market-ready prototypes, product enhancements, and new solutions. The research conducted and the incubation of business opportunities benefits and inspires enterprises and end users and opens the world up to new possibilities thanks to innovations in IT.
The Security & Trust research practice with its 35 researchers aims to ensure security quality of software and services through systematic and rigorous engineering, to provide innovative solutions of the security challenges in business networks, and to act as a trusted security advisor for the company. Within the Security & Trust group in Karlsruhe, Germany we look for motivated students to work with us on the following topics:
- Searching over Encrypted Data
- New (cryptography - based) security applications
- Web Application Security
- Software Security
- Security Economics
- Business Process Security
- Cloud / Mobile Security
- Security Assessments

Expectations and Tasks
- You will have the chance to work with internationally leading research experts on state of the art security topics.
- We expect you to define and evaluate new security technologies with us, help us implement and validate research results as well as document our findings.
- You should have strong anlytic skills, programming experience and an attitude to identify problems and solve them.
- We can offer interesting thesis topics and the chance to work with the latest security technologies. You get to know how the internal and external SAP Security works as well as what the current trends and challenges in IT Security are.
Education and Qualification / Skills and Competencies - Student (f/m) at a university or university of applied sciences
- Preferred field of study: Computer Science
- Experience with IT Security, Algorithms & Data Structures, Databases, JAVA, HTML5
- Good German and English language skills
- Ability to work in a team
