Job description
As Mechanical Lead Engineer you will work either within one of our internal project teams or you will assist one of our clients within their company. As Mechanical Lead Engineer you will focus on engineering and drafting mechanical components, machines and tooling as well as maintaining the relationship with the client, leading mechanical engineers and draftsmen and manage the projects.

The main responsibilities of a Mechanical Lead Engineer are:

• Specify requirements based on client input and assist Sales in drafting up the engineering quotation;
• Communicate with our client on subjects such as project progress, technical changes during project, inspection of output (2D/3D drawings) and other related topics;
• Execute feasibility studies and preliminary studies to ensure meeting project deadlines;
• Maintain a proficient project administration (status, planning, changes)

Mechanical Lead Engineer Job Requirements

Our ideal candidate meets the following requirement:

Education level

• Bachelor, Master or Phd degree in Mechanics or Mechatronics.

• At least 7 years of experience in designing and drafting complex machines, preferably in a High Tech environment;
• Well educated and experienced in the application of construction principles;
• Well-developed analytical ability, ability to design concepts and a pragmatic attitude and capability to translate concepts into practical designs that meet the specified requirements;
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling tools is required, preferably with one of these programs: Unigraphics NX, SolidWorks, Inventor or Pro-Engineer;
• Experience with project management and preferably experienced in leading a small team of peers.
