For our European Headquarters in Burscheid near Cologne, we're now seeking you (m/f) as: Manager New Technologies - Metal Joining Procesess
Your responsibilities:
- Review and/or conduct mid and long-term projects to demonstrate the performance, reliability and commercial potential of new and/or improved metal joining processes (i. e. welding, brazing, bonding, etc.) for automotive seating products.
- Expand the metal joining capabilities (welding, brazing, bonding, etc.) of Johnson Controls to enable use of high strength, lightweight materials such as advanced high strength steels, aluminium alloys and magnesium alloys in automotive seating products.
- Expand the capabilities of Johnson Controls to join metals to non-metals
- Provide technology, processes or products that can be implemented into automotive seating and other products of Johnson Controls
- Develop and protect intellectual property for joining technologies
- Contribute to the metals, forming and joining technology domain strategy and ensure growth contribution for the Johnson Controls product portfolio
- Execute all projects to expected deliverables in content, budget and milestones
- Leverage/extend a technology domain relevant network with internal and external experts as well as with academia
- Contribute to global technology scouting and technical road mapping for the technology domain

Manager New Technologies - Metal Joining Procesess Job Requirements
Your qualifications:
- Master or Bachelor in metallurgical or materials engineering
- Experience in the structural joining (welding, brazing, bonding, etc.) of similar and dissimilar metals
- Profound experience in joint design and manufacturing method to joint performance
- Ability to work out new, creative and cost-saving solutions
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability and interest to work within an international team
- Intensive creativity and entrepreneurial spirit
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Understanding the intellectual property landscape of joining processes
- Automotive OEM specifications for joints and joining methods desirable
- Automotive seating experience beneficial
- English and German business fluent
