Develop new process techologies for a world-leading producer

Within ANIC the sub-business unit MCA is the world’s largest producer of monochloroacetic acid (MCA) and sodium monochloroacetate (SMCA). We operate three production sites in Europe and Asia and a dissolving station in the USA, enabling us to serve customers globally. Safety and responsibility are top priorities as we aim to guarantee the lowest possible risks for our customers, our logistical partners and our employees. MCA operates its own dedicated RD&I Group (IC-MPT) in Deventer, the Netherlands. IC-MPT executes technology driven projects to improve our current MCA processes and develops new technologies for existing or new MCA plants.

Research Technologist

This is an exciting opportunity to build and maintain expertise regarding existing and new MCA process technologies in close cooperation with Corporate RD&I groups, external knowledge partners and MCA plant technologists. Moreover, you will be joining a multinational, multicultural organization that is committed to your personal and professional growth. You report to the IC-MPT Group Leader.

Responsibilities and objectives
Within this context you are responsible for a number of important functions as you lead RD&I projects focused on the continuous improvement of our MCA processes. This involves generating new ideas in line with the MCA strategy, leading to process and/or product improvement. At the same time you support Marketing and Manufacturing organization and contribute to the RD&I and Technology program. You also improve the IP position of MCA by drafting patents in close cooperation with the intellectual property department. In order to perform these roles effectively you maintain and strengthen our networks with universities, research institutes and corporate RD&I groups.

Research Technologist Job Requirements

To apply for this position you should have a university degree in chemical process engineering. A few years of working experience is an asset. With this comes the ability to lead RD&I projects in close cooperation with other R&D groups and MCA plant technologists. This requires you to be a self-motivated team player with a client and results focused approach. You are also an effortless communicator and networker, capable of making and maintaining contacts at different functional levels. 

A high standard of written and spoken Dutch and English is essential.
