Electrical Engineering Technician (f/m) Job Description
EBG MedAustron GmbH is building and will later on operate a state-of-the art ion- beam centre for tumour therapy and medical/physics research in Wiener Neustadt, Austria. The technical design and construction of the particle accelerator is made in collaboration with the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN, http:// cern.ch ) in Geneva.
The MedAustron work package “Special Magnets” is part of the EBG MedAustron/ CERN collaboration, to deliver the injection/extraction elements such as kickers, septa, fast deflectors and fast chopper magnets for the MedAustron accelerator and its transfer lines.
In our young and dynamic team based in Geneva (Switzerland) we are searching for an:
Electrical Engineering Technician (f/m)
Your tasks:
- Implementation of PLC based systems (Simatic S7) Assembly of electrical cabinets for controls and high voltage supply purposes (see http://accelconf.web.cern.ch/Accelconf/IPAC2011/PAPERS/thps048.pdf )
- Purchasing of components, contract follow up
- Testing Installation and commissioning in Wiener Neustadt
- Technical documentation
- Assist the work package management in review and production follow up and continuous contributions to quality improvement processes
- Accelerator operation in Wiener Neustadt
Our Offer We offer a limited duration position initially for one year (with possibility to obtain an indefinite contract) in our young and dynamic team based at CERN (Geneva) where you will work together with experienced CERN staff. Electrical Engineering Technician (f/m) Job Requirements
- HTL or FH Bakk. in electrical engineering (or equivalent)
- 2 years’ experience in assembly of electrical cabinets
- Experience in PLC programming for Siemens Simatic series
- Ability to work within a team in a multidisciplinary, international environment (Fluent in English)
- Knowledge / experience with high voltage engineering would be an advantage
- Additional skills in controls would be an appreciated asset
