OCI-OCI Manufacturing Fertilizers-part of Nitrogen has a vacancy for: Chemical Engineer (M/F)

Contents of the function: 
OCI Fertilizers Manufacturing (OMF) has three nitric acid plants, an ammonium nitrate section and three pellet granulation plants at the industrial area Chemelot in Geleen. The challenge as a Chemical Engineer is to continuously improving the operating window in relation to the integrity and overall performance of the industrial plant (SHE, capacity, cost). As a Chemical Engineer you will contribute to solve short-term plant problems and optimize the plant. We expect most practical and specific technological process plant knowledge and solution strategies through troubleshooting, conducting feasibility studies and support for projects.

Nitric acid is used as a raw material for the ammonium nitrate. A part of the ammonium nitrate is mixed with the dolomite and processed to granules of fertilizer (CAN). The remain part is diluted as a liquid and sold as fertilizer (UAN). The challenge is to get as much as possible tonnes of product out of the existing plant and equipment and to further decrease the variable costs in the coming years.

Chemical Engineer (M/F) Job Requirements

Knowledge and training level: 

• You have minimal a rounded Bachelor in Process Technique or Chemical Engineering/Technology.
• Several years experience as a chemical technologist at a company in the chemical process industry is an advantage.
• You are a team player who knows how to communicate with other disciplines and can put them together to reach a joint solution.
• You're fluent in English and you have good knowledge of the Dutch language.
