The Company
An opportunity has arisen for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join a global market leader in the manufacture and supply of turbo generators. The company has a focus on excellence and innovation in their product and processes, and is looking for a passionate Lead Mechanical Engineer who can join a rapidly expanding organisation with an international reputation.
The Role
You will join the Aftermarket Department providing the team with your mechanical design expertise using 2D and 3D CAD. As the technical expert you will be the point of liaison for customers providing innovative solutions to mechanical problems with existing and legacy products. These bespoke solutions may be unique and tailored to individual customers or applications, reinforcing the customer driven nature of the business. In support of the Sales and Project Management teams you will meet with customers to clarify requirements and provide bespoke design solutions, ensuring compliance of technical documentation related to the company product and services. In addition will provide technical expertise to other departments on large rotating equipment at all lifecycle stages.
Candidate
You will be educated to a degree level in Engineering (mechanical is preferable). You will be fully conversant with CAD and all Microsoft office software. Some knowledge of FEA is desirable. An understanding of rotating machinery is preferred, however candidates with some experience of complex mechanical structures including turbines and generators will be considered. You will be a problem solver with methodical approach and good attention to detail, excellent communicator both verbally and with the written word.
