Description of the job
For Astrium in Ottobrunn within the department Nav Systems Engineering - System Architecture & Performance we are looking for an intern/trainee (m/f).
Satellite navigation systems like GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo provide a set of parameters required for user positioning via the navigation message. These parameters are predictions and have a certain error. The objective of the task is to characterize these errors by comparing the parameters to precise reference data. In order to accomplish the task several steps are to be performed:
The topic can be dealt with in the frame of an internship, bachelor/master thesis or traineeship.
An earlier starting date can be negotiated with the hiring manager.
Tasks
Your main tasks will be:
- Decoding of navidation messages according to interface descriptions
- Computation of satellite positions according to algorithms specified in the interface descriptions
- Determination of errors of navigation parameters by comparison with preicise reference data (data and comparison program
are available)
- Statistical evaluation of error results and their degradation characteristic over time
- The anaylsis shall be implemented in Matlab.
- Enrolled student in the field of Aerospace Engineering, Geoinformatics, Geodesy or similar
- Knowledge of satellite navigation systems and Matlab required
- English: Advanced
- German skills will be considered as a plus Work Experience No work experience
