Packo, located in Bruges, grew from a family business into a real world reference in processing stainless steel. 270 competent and enthusiastic employees realize a total turnover of more than 40 million euros. Their client portfolio is very diverse and international: 90 % of their products are exported to over 80 countries. Packo designs and installs systems to process pharmaceutical products – such as vaccines – or food – such as milk or beer (to keep the products sterile, to cool products, …). SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER
Civil Engineer with experience in the processing industry
 

Job description

• You analyze the client needs and translate them into customized solutions.
• You are responsible for the execution of projects (for the Food & Beverage, Pharma & Biotech Industry) in order to offer ‘the best’ technological solution.
• You are responsible for the progress of the projects and for monitoring the quality of the results.You also guarantee a transparent, up-to-date and fully information flow, both intern as extern.
• When executing projects, you take on a central role on guiding the internal team of designers and external subcontractors.
• As Senior Project Manager, you share your knowledge with others and become a key person for the team.
• You keep yourself informed on trends in the sector and you attend seminars. You pinpoint amendments in the law and you monitor market trends proactively.
• You are continuously up-to-date about new evolutions in technologies with regard to RVS, liquids, warmth transfer, pumping, agitating, dosing, hygienic design, …
• You look for existing and new innovative (yet unknown) technologies inside and outside the company.
• You report directly to the Business Unit Manager Industry.
• The clients of your team are: Sales Engineers, Designers, Production, Logistic Department, Service Department, and Finance Department.

Senior Project Manager Job Requirements

• You have a degree in Civil Engineering, preferably in the field of Mechanical Engineering with a minimum experience of ten years in processing industry, preferably in food, pharma and/or biotechnology (hygiene).
• You have a solid knowledge of materials and metal related issues such as mechanical components, pneumatics, hydraulics, thermodynamic components (heat exchanger, evaporator …), the possibilities of controlling, sensors and instrumentation.
• You have a good knowledge of 3D and PDM, strength calculations, finite element analysis (strength/power, warmth transfer, liquids …).
• You have a good knowledge of electrical diagrams, mechanical drawings, design and production methods in metalworking.
• You are familiar with standardization and standards that are specific for hygienic designs.
• You communicate well in Dutch, English, and French. Knowledge of German is a plus.
• You are willing to travel occasionally to follow-up on your projects with international clients (20 % of the time, especially short trips).
• You have built up a solid reputation to manage complex projects for big, professional and high demanding clients.
