Mechanical Engineer- Geartrain Design Job Description

• As Geartrain Specialist you will be working within the R&D team for automatic transmissions, hybrid and full electric powertrains.
• You will have the responsibility for the design and improvement of mechanical components and systems, with specialization for gears, shafts and bearings. 
• You will lead simultaneous engineering activities based on your good knowledge on manufacturing technologies for gears and geartrain components.
• Validation is a key area for your work, which you are willing to manage through the development and supervision of testing methods, monitoring and the use of FMEA.
• Initiate and develop new concepts to improve transmissions.
• You provide technical expertise to support the assembly department.
• In close collaboration you will work with internal departments such as production, quality, purchasing and with external partners for development and production.

Mechanical Engineer- Geartrain Design Job Requirements

• You have a Master engineering degree (mechanical, electromechanical, or industrial) or equivalent by experience.
• You have proven experience with Geartrain design (>5 years)
• You have thorough knowledge and experience in the field of mechanics, dynamics and manufacturing (preferably in an automotive environment).
• You have good knowledge and experience in analytical development software such as KISSsoft and MASTA
• You have strong experience in structured problem resolution processes such as 8D and 6-sigma
• Thanks to your strong communication skills and good knowledge of English, you excel at teamwork and are strong in reporting knowledge and results.
• You are an independent, perseverant, and systematic worker with a goal-oriented and analytical mindset.
