You are a passionate JavaScript developer and love OSS? You are very familiar with the Node.js environment as well as the NPM registry and everything related to the build system? You also know how to manage an Open Source project, the community around it and you want to keep up with the latest news and features from the JavaScript world? Great, we are looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our team (in Berlin or Munich) to manage and contribute to our Open Source JavaScript ecosystem!
Responsibilities 
- Manage all JavaScript related OSS in our GitHub repos 
- Build and improve the software and keep up with updates, bugs and release processes 
- Design and implement solutions for user / customer needs, still keeping in mind the OSS guidelines 
- Manage and provide support for GitHub issues and pull requests 
- Ensure well tested software

JavaScript & Node.js Expert (m/f) commercetools GmbH Job Requirements

Requirements 
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science and/or equivalent experience/qualification 
- Min. 3 years of work experience as Software Engineer in an agile environment 
- Excellent knowledge of JavaScript / Node.js, as well as CoffeeScript 
- Very good knowledge of HTTP protocols and web server optimization techniques 
- Very good knowledge of asynchronous and functional programming 
- Experience with build systems, CLI tooling, automated testing 
- Very good knowledge of OSS, contribution guidelines and documentation 
- Fluent English for the work in international teams, German would be a plus 
- Excellent problem solving skills 
- Structured, analytic and self-contained way of working 
- Aspiration to constantly improve yourself and learn new technologies and concepts 
- Team player with good communication skills and a good dose of pragmatism
Nice-to-have's 
- Important contributions to OSS 
- Knowledge of upcoming JS versions like ES6 / ES7 
- Knowledge of Linux / UNIX systems and Docker 
- Familiar with open source channels like Slack, Stack Overflow, etc.
