How can we optimize our planning processes to reach the best business results against the lowest costs or largest margins? How can we make sure the impact of operational issues does not affect the supply and demand volumes too much? What will the costs be if we decide to produce a ton PO less or a ton PO more? Questions we ask ourselves daily, and that’s where you come in.
As an (Senior) Operations Planner you will be responsible for leading the European operations planning process for several products in our intermediates and Derivatives business and for joint global planning with colleagues in the US and Asia. You manage business operations by developing and maintaining operating plans which include demand forecasting, production and supply planning and optimization, distribution planning and inventory targeting. Regarding the business optimization you provide analytical support.
Communication in this role is key. You interface cross functionally with the business, sales, legal, manufacturing and the supply chain. The goal is to achieve an aligned operating plan with the highest possible economic value. Furthermore, you act as a focal point between Manufacturing, Marketing, Raw Materials Supply and Supply Chain in relation to production/contingency plans and short-term strategies. And finally, you collaborate with co-producers in global swaps, exchange, toll and purchasing agreements.
As you monitor performance versus plan and recommend improvements your focus will be both on the short-term planning and the 5-year planning horizon. You Identify new strategic and tactical integration opportunities from an overall business perspective between manufacturing sites and with our partners.
This is who you are
You have a track record in operations planning or product management, or you have a track record in process engineering in the chemical or refining industry and ready for a change. You know the chemical industry business. You are a natural communicator who has the gift to align team members and stakeholders within and outside the company. You are not only a verbally communication talent but can also report clearly towards different kinds of audiences. You adapt easily to changes.
This is what you bring
· Master’s Degree in Engineering required (Chemical Engineering preferred);
· Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing, business planning and analysis, supply chain or a commercial role;
· A broad knowledge of the chemical industry business, manufacturing operations and economics;
· Experience with analytical and decision-making tools and methods as: Excel, PowerPoint and SAP;
· English fluently.
