What will you do as Group Lead?
You are the person that will inspire, motivate and build a strong and healthy team. Your ambition is to put people in their strength and develop themselves accordingly. In close collaboration with the Domain Expert and Project Management you will support your team of highly talented engineers. You strive for a good balance between efficiency and effectiveness with the goal to have them deliver high quality solutions which will benefit the mission of Lightyear, clean mobility for everyone! Your job will focus but is not limited to:
- ensure the personal and professional development of the team members
- ensure the performance of the team members
- close the gap between required quality and current established quality
- manage a close working relationship with the domain expert to ensure required quality on domain specific knowledge
- manage a close working relationship with project management to ensure the correct resources are available to source the different multidisciplinary project teams
- create and secure a strong and healthy team via 1:1 sessions with the team members (goals, personal subjects, development, activities etc)
- responsible for the appraisal, sickness and leave of your team members
- actively support career development within your team and therefore you will manage a close working relationship to HR and Learning & Development
- give input on the decision to attract new talent, outsource or add contractors
Group Lead Job Requirements
What do we expect from a Group Lead at Lightyear?
To succeed in the dynamic world of Lightyear, pro-activity, professionalism, communication and adaptability are crucial. In addition, we are looking for someone with an ambitious attitude who learns from the past (tried and tested) but who is especially open to transforming new developments or ideas into the "tried and tested" of the future! You are also someone with a high sense of responsibility and a cooperative attitude. Furthermore you'll bring:
- At least a Bachelor degree in a technical direction (for example engineering or Product Development etc) with an academic working- and thinking level. A Master degree in similar fields is considered as a plus
- At least 5 years of full-time working experience in leading teams
- Courses in communication, leadership or development tools (Insights/DISC etc) is considered as a plus
- A technical education is mandatory
- You have a pro-active, analytical and creative attitude with a “can do” mentality
- You are an excellent listener and you know how to make an authentic connection with people (cultural awareness)
- You are highly skilled in situational leadership and this comes naturally for you
- You are an assertive person with well developed human knowledge skills. Furthermore organizational skills and decisiveness are some of your strong suits
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, in English and Dutch
- Availability for 40 hours per week
