Job Mission
The Field Marketing (FM) Engineer/Manager focuses on building a trusted, technical relationship between Cymer and its customers in the China region. The FM leverages technical expertise to effectively promote Cymer’s light source value and capabilities, while identifying and recommending Cymer solutions to support customer needs. The FM acts as an advisor to Cymer account management, product marketing, and engineering functional groups on the optimum use and operation of excimer laser sources for semiconductor lithography, as well as identifying new product opportunities. The FM is responsible for enhancing chipmaker customer value by improving light source use, productivity, performance or reducing operational cost. The FM will work directly with strategic customers to lead collaborative evaluation and/or development programs with chipmakers. The FM serves as an expert on matters pertaining to light source performance and technology capability. This position is based in Cymer’s Shanghai, China regional office.
Job Description
Strategic marketing: Gain deep understanding of customer technology and how Cymer solutions can support customer needs Collect customer technical requirements and identify opportunities to leverage upgrades, define product improvements and new products Increase Cymer knowledge of customer roadmaps, plans, processes, and challenges through Competitive Intelligence Support definition of new products through detailed technical and value analysis Lead the technical interaction between customers and the Marketing, Product, and/or Account teams (AT); collaborate in joint ASML-Brion-Cymer NTP activities to introduce new light source capabilities Collaborate closely and align with the AT to provide input on the technical elements of the account strategy and to maintain customer intimacy Product promotion: Communicate Cymer roadmaps, technology, and product updates to customers (internal and external) in support of AT strategy Identify and recommend Cymer solutions (upgrades, new products, etc.) to AT and Product Marketing Develop competitive positioning strategy in alignment with Product Marketing, with specific focus on customer profile Tactical field marketing support: Primary local point of contact for new product evaluations – provide technical guidance to Product Development Group and AT on customer-specific introduction strategy Collaborate with key customers on experiments or evaluations in support of new technologies and products; analyze and summarize experimental results and generate presentation of results within Cymer, to chipmaker customers, and at industry meetings Performs other duties as assigned.
