Back Bone Messaging Engineer Job Description

My client is a leading global financial services client who are seeking a messaging engineer to design, implement and support the flow of mail through their back bone environment and ultimately to become the global subject matter expert for this area. You will focus on 2 main areas firstly the application mail flow and the dedicated application environments Kana, eDelivery & Coldspark and secondly is the providing focused attention to the environments Anti-Spam & Anti Malware defenses and managing the interaction with external parties to help insure the delivery of the application mail.
 

Back Bone Messaging Engineer Job Requirements

The successful candidate will have proven experience working in a large message flow enviroment (multimillion daily) in a standards based Mail Transport enviroment with MTA Transport products such as Sendmail Sentrion, Postfix, Proofpoint, Ironmail, expereince with mail rules for rewritting, header tagging and manipulation and specific Non Delivery-Request behaviours and LDAP based mail validation and routing for address validation, lookup, tagging
Experience with MTA log review and reporting tools from open source spaces and commercial products such as Splunk, Arcsight, will be required and an expert knowledge with SPAM and validation mail technologies such as TLS, SPF, DKIM, BATV, and tools to prevent SPAM, phishing and reputational impact to mail flows with cloud SPAM and AV vendors such as MessageLabs, Postini, Forefront, and Proofpoint highly desirable. My also requires strong Perl and Unix shell construct primitives in a Unix and Linux environment with at least 5 years experience with Linux and Sendmail tools.
