Your job is in a hectic, dynamic and international oriented environment with tight deadlines. The US Tax Reporting Manager will be part of the world wide ASML Tax Support Organization. The Tax Support Organization is part of Finance and has the Corporate Tax department as primary business partner. The primary goal is to effectively and efficiently execute the reporting (US GAAP/ASC 740) and tax compliance (federal tax returns, state tax returns, SUT etc.) related processes for the ASML group entities in United States. Job DescriptionAs Tax Reporting Manager you are expected to manage the US Tax Support team, to ascertain timely and accurate filing of all our US tax returns, to facilitate our tax reporting obligations (ASC 740) and to optimize processes in order to arrange for a clear audit trail – with proper substantiation and specification- between our primary US GAAP books and local tax reporting/compliance obligations.1) Financial Reporting
- Coordinate ASC 740 internal reporting process for our US group companies & manage US Tax Support team in periodic determination of US tax positions, including quarter-end close analysis and reconciliation of income tax accounts.
- Coordinate analysis of complex provision items, such as valuation allowance and FIN 48.
- Monitor the US compliance with corporate accounting policies as well as local regulations.
- Coordinate quarterly calculations for transfer pricing purposes.2) Tax Reporting.
- Manage the US Tax Support organization (currently consisting of three other employees).
- Monitor tax compliance obligations of the US ASML group companies and coordinate timely preparation of multi state income tax returns to ensure compliance with federal, state and local tax requirements, including the coordination of quarterly estimated tax and extension payments.
- Manage preparation of monthly sales and property tax returns.
- Manage all aspects of international tax compliance, including GILTI and FDII calculations, earnings & profits calculations, Subpart F computations, foreign tax credits, as well as integration and compliance of newly acquired business entities.
- Coordinate the data validation for the US ASML group entities for Country-by-Country Reporting purposes.
- Facilitate / create reliable basis for tax cash planning.
- Identify and communicate risks & opportunities (e.g. use of withholding taxes / tax credits) – in conjunction with ASML Corporate Tax Department.
- Assist in preparation of response (from a financial input perspective) to queries on tax authorities in efficient & timely manner.
- Maintain / monitor tax related SOX controls.Travel: 15% - 20% (as needed) EducationBachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance (Masters in Taxation preferred) or equivalent experience. CPA certification (required). Experience- 10+ years' experience in a large multi-state business or public accounting firm.
- Must be familiar with tax regulations at the Federal, State and Local level.
- Ability to work independently and identify potentially more effective methods of work operation.
- Lead with a continuous process improvement mindset always seeking at various aspects of tax reporting function to achieve optimal efficiency, effective controls, and quality.
- Strong understanding of financial accounting processes.
- Experience with automation of reporting processes in a SAP/Oracle environment and/or experience with robotic process automation (RPA) is an advantage.
