Software is involved in all aspects of a document production system. The heart of a printing system is the so-called ‘workflow controller software’, dealing with the dynamics of user interaction, bitmap data processing and device control. This is the work of one of our departments within Software Systems (± 300 employees) at Océ R&D in Venlo. An example is our PRISMAsync, a workflow controller software platform for high-end production environments. Check also: http://bit.ly/hv0Wlt
In one of our R&D projects you are developing controller software, which is used for several office print systems. In your project you are responsible for the software design; thinking about the functionalities, the design and make it work. You define the requirements for your concepts, and translate them into a software design. Because software is highly integrated within other interfaces and applications you have a lot of interaction with other experts, like software architects. You’re responsible for delivering a quality product while keeping the overall system goals in mind. What’s more is that development takes places at multiple sites, and in consultation with external parties. It encloses thinking about advanced software for our products, and making them ready for use.
Our Offer
