CAD Manager Job Description

For the engineering department of Lightyear we are looking for a CAD Manager. In this role you will be involved in the development of all CAD processes and Standardizations You have a solution-oriented approach, work closely and in a structured manner. You see the importance of standardization and consistency and you always have that in mind when carrying out your work. You are able to manage, coach and educate our engineers within multidisciplinary teams to work in an efficient, similar and in a qualitative manner. You will be the key user within Lightyear regarding the use of Catia now and in the future. 

The daily activities will consist of, among other things:

• Create and manage the CAD Guidelines within Lightyear for use in 3D CAD programs (Catia V5 and/or V6)
• Generate company templates and standardizations for CAD Management
• Develop the Company CAD processes to work efficiently
• Give workshops to our internal engineering staff to develop company CAD skills.
• Maintain awareness for new developments within CAD/PLM/Catia
• Advice our Architects and Organization Team regarding CAD related issues
• Ensuring the whole vehicle CAD maturity is progressed, maintained and complete

CAD Manager Job Requirements

Requirements

• At least a completed Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Extensive and "guru-like" experience with Catia V5 and/or V6
• In-depth technical expertise with the latest CAD technologies and you are always up to date of potential improvements
• Understanding of the fundamentals in design and engineering
• Relevant work experience, at least 8 years, with Catia within an automotive/aerospace related engineering environment
• Experience with automotive projects is a plus 
• Fluent in English language in writing and oral. Dutch is a plus.
