Job Description
The Release Train Engineer is a key player in delivering our software on time, with great quality for our customers. You'll be responsible for organizing the Agile release train ceremonies; making sure that the agreed upon deliverables are delivered. You'll reach this target by; optimizing the flow of the process, ensuring optimal guidance and excellence for the teams by coaching and developing Scrum Masters, ensuring fast delivery by removing impediments and dependencies, ensuring delivery excellence by keeping the Agile release train stable and shielding it from external interferences, providing analyses of current processes, evaluating bottlenecks and advising in regard to improvements in processes and procedures.You'll be working very closely with multiple internal stakeholders like architects, product owners, software managers project managers and of course your team of Scrum masters and the groups they facilitate.The Release Train Engineer is responsible to ensure that the agile Release Train is setup in the most optimal way for fast and high quality value delivery. Some of the challenges you'll face in this role are: ensuring that the Agile release train improves itself, ensuring that the agile release train stays on track with their deliverables (managing escalations / changing priorities), making sure the stakeholders are managed, ensuring teams stay engaged and managing the cadence and facilitate rituals.
Education
MSc degree in Software Engineering, Computer Sciences, Mathematics or Engineering and a background in software development in a technical environmentExperience5-10 years experience as Scrum Master in Agile environmentPersonal skills to be successful in this role you'll need a high level of knowledge and exercise the following behaviors:Extensive knowledge sharing on agile, lean and SAFeLarge group facilitation and overseeing the bigger pictureCoachingAct as escalation level for SM’s, proactive problem solvingOpen and transparent communication protecting the teams and helping teams growNatural stakeholder managerCourageous to deliver the truth, even if it’s not what people want to hearSituational leadership, feels ownership/responsible and deals fairly with everyone planning & organizing skills change leadership, continuous improvement and process management domain / business knowledge preferable
