ASML is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of chip-making equipment.
Our vision is to enable affordable microelectronics that improve the quality of life. To achieve this, our mission is to invent, develop, manufacture and service advanced technology for high-tech lithography, metrology and software solutions for the semiconductor industry.
ASML's guiding principle is continuing Moore's Law towards ever smaller, cheaper, more powerful and energy-efficient semiconductors. This results in increasingly powerful and capable electronics that enable the world to progress within a multitude of fields, including healthcare, technology, communications, energy, mobility, and entertainment.
Working at ASML
We provide the world’s top chipmakers everything they need to create better performing, cheaper semiconductor chips. Simply put: we are an industry leader supporting industry leaders.
As such, you’ll be encouraged to bring your best ideas and act on them. You’ll have the freedom, trust, and support in your field to experiment and solve complex challenges. Things are rarely dull when you’re constantly breaking new ground.
But despite our fast-paced environment at the forefront of tech, we take your work-life balance and wellbeing seriously. A business is only as good as its employees.
So join us, and you’ll be a part of a global collaboration. One that promotes creativity, the inclusion of highly diverse teams, and an exciting and dynamic work environment. Join us, and you’ll be a part of progress.
Introduction
The D&E Optical Column department is part of the EUV sector of ASML. Its task is to develop and industrialize the imaging function for the Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines.Position in the organization:
The holder of the position reports to the group lead of the Projection group and is operational within multidisciplinary projects. The Projection group is responsible for optimizing the imaging performance by providing the means and methods to improve projection optics, and assuring the cleanliness of the path the light travels through.
Job Mission
The candidate is responsible for the delivery of all industrialization deliverables - with special focus on 6s - which are needed to quickly recover a system in the field from a particle generating source, like a pellicle rupture. Furthermore, the candidate is expected to give constructive feedback to engineers across several projects that will help to improve the defectivity performance of EUV machines in an integral way.
Job Description
Develop and maintain sequences and procedures for the field for upgrading, diagnosing, accessing, cleaning and recovery of EUV machines after for instance a pellicle rupture, all aimed at maximizing system availability for our customers.
-Actively participate in design reviews: (1) to eliminate any source of particle generation, (2) to prevent particles ending up at critical surfaces, (3) to define solutions on how to remove particles, i.e. cleaning methods, (4) to introduce and release new/updated Calibration Performance and Diagnostics (CPD) tests, (5) to properly make observable and diagnose defectivity related issues.
-Consistently report on the status of your industrialization deliverables in carrousel meetings, relevant Key Decision (KD) moments and progress reviews. Keep this data constantly up-to-date, and align this with your personal planning in Enterprise Project.
-Create and deliver knowledge transfers and training to Customer Support to prepare customer sites for upcoming changes in our defectivity approach, ranging from the introduction of simple hardware re-designs to complete new recovery sequences.
-Act as integrating engineer, i.e. collaborate and plan sub-deliverables with engineers from other projects to strive for integral consistent defectivity solutions for the field.
-Predict and analyse the availability performance of contaminating parts and their impact on other parts, and define roadmaps for the different aspects in availability that bring this performance in specification again.
-Participate in a small development team to trouble shoot and support all kind of defectivity issues encountered on operating machines, either in the factory or in the field at the customer, thereby collaborating with other manufacturing and customer support teams.
-Key interfaces: EUV defectivity project, equipment engineers from other projects, reliability engineers, PL, GL, TL, module architects, Customer Support.
Education
University MSc or similar, preferably with relevant experience in industrial engineeringExperience-preferably >5 years work experience in an industrial environmentPersonal skills-the candidate should be able to work in a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic and explorative environment;
-has knowledge of particle generation, particle transport and particle deposition processes in combination with affinity for opto-mechanical systems;
-has excellent communicational skills, is a self-starter, has hands-on and pragmatic attitude, and has well developed analytical capabilities;
-has sense for accuracy, acts as gatekeeper to secure consistent quality over the input given by other projects;
-is able to give direction on what tasks needs to be done by whom, what result is expected, and how this needs to be executed;
-is able to think out-of-the-box to find ways to convert different project methodologies into one integral solution.
-is able to steer him/herself with little or no management attention, planning the industrialization deliverables in terms of deadlines and (cross) project inputs.
