PLM/CAD Specialist Job Description

Description
For the engineering department of Lightyear we are looking for a PLM/CAD Specialist. In this role you will be involved in facilitating engineers within the field of high-end 3D CAD using Catia. You have a solution-oriented approach, work closely and in a structured manner. You see the importance of standardization and consistency and you always have that in mind when carrying out your work. You are able to guide, coach and educate our engineers within multidisciplinary teams to work in an efficient, similar and in a qualitative manner. You will be the key user within Lightyear regarding the use of Catia now and in the future. 
The daily activities will consist of, among other things:

• create and keep track of specifications for use in 3D CAD programs (Catia V6)
• creating templates and standardizations
• build the processes to work efficiently and smart
• give workshops to our internal engineering staff to continuously improve
• you have a great awareness of new developments within CAD/PLM/Catia
• you will advice our Architects and Organization team regarding CAD/PLM related issues

PLM/CAD Specialist Job Requirements

Requirements

• At least a completed Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Relevant work experience, at least 5 years, with Catia within an automotive/aerospace related engineering environment
• Experience with automotive projects is a plus
• Extensive and "guru-like" experience with Catia V5 and/or V6
• Understanding of the fundamentals in design and engineering 
• In-depth technical expertise with the latest CAD technologies and you are always up to date of potential improvements
• A good understanding of the English and Dutch language in writing and oral. Native is Dutch is a big plus
