Job Mission
As an Equipment Engineer Metrology you represent the customer support organization in the product and process development. In this role you secure the product meets the required field availability and operational cost. You ensure the product and process design is such that your colleagues at our customers sites are able to efficiently service our complex equipment.You can see yourself as the bridge between the design project and the internal customer in the field.
The Metrology competence enables and implements control of the ASML system and its functions on nanometer levels of accuracy by means of mathematical modeling of the system and its functions. The products delivered to the service organization are software packages.The Metrology competence connects multiple technical disciplines. You need to be able to keep a broad system view when performing your job.
Job Description
The Equipment Engineer Metrology is responsible for:
-Represent customer service during the design phase and make sure the service requirements are implemented in the design
-Review design and design documentation
-Create service procedures for diagnosing and solving machine issues, including setup and recovery
-Deliver knowledge of new products to the field service organization
-Support (on-site) complex troubleshooting issues (escalations) during new product introduction phase
-Identify structural issues and drive the development team towards a solution
-Minimize operational costs for volume products by improving machine availability (up-time)
-Analyze global product performance and define requirements for design improvement.
Education
Bachelor or Master degree (preferred) in physics, optics, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electronics (or other technical background) with minimum 2 years of working experience
Experience
-Broad knowledge of metrology, mechatronics or optics
-Broad knowledge of manufacturing and/or service processes
-Previous background as production and/or service engineer preferably in a new product introduction environment
-Familiar with design processes

-Flexible and have a practical focus
-Strong technical background, interested in product and process
-Focused on quality, continuous improvement, need of the customer
-Pro-active mindset, plenty of initiative
-Highly motivated team player with good social and communication skills in English
-Ability to effectively influence your stakeholders to successfully get our designs and service processes to a higher level
-Willingness for international travel (max 10%)
Context of the position
The sector Development and Engineering (D&E) of ASML is responsible for the specification, design, and realization of the products in the ASML portfolio. The position of Equipment Engineer Metrology is part of the Metrology cluster within the sector D&E.
