Support and Field Engineer Job Description

Position:         Support and Field Engineer
Salary:            28,000 – 35,000 SEK p/m
Location:         Stockholm

A very exciting opportunity to assist this world leader in supporting the communications, telecoms  and infrastructure services for this Global Leader in Communications and ICT. An excellent position to develop your career and learn new Cloud technologies.
 
Responsibilities:
 

• You will take ownership for assigned support tasks to communicate with customers about implementations and issues.
• Technical support on customer setups in Unified Communications etc.
• Out of hours on call support on a rotational basis

• Trouble-Ticket handling according to standards and SLAs
• Hardware and Software repair for IT users
• Second Level support (incl. Out of hours On-Call)
• Escalate to Third level engineers when needed. Rack and Patch new server systems.
• Install OS (Unix, Solaris, Windows) using the build servers and procedures.
• General IT Office / Laptop / desktop support.
• To carry out the day to day field activities associated with implementation and network build projects, for both internal and external customers
• To own the network part of infrastructure, create a network portal of information and keep the documentation up to date.
• To be responsible for the datacentre infrastructure and organizing the preventive maintenance of the datacentre. 

Support and Field Engineer Job Requirements

Ideal Support Engineer

• You will have 2-3 Years professional experience as Systems Manager in the Telecommunication, Hosting or IT Business or equivalent required.
• A Basic knowledge of mainly Windows Operation systems and management of those Operation systems.
• Understanding of Operating Systems (Unix and Linux), security systems (Firewalls, VPNs)
• Understanding of TCP/ IP and Networks and experience in Transmission installation and commissioning or Service delivery activities for customer connections
• Windows NT/2000/2003/2008, Exchange cluster, Scripting basic tasks and application installs, Windows 2000, 2003 &2008 terminal server and cluster setups, F5 Networks knowledge (basic),  Cisco ASA knowledge (basic), Good knowledge of IP networking and Cisco products.
• You will work to (ISO27001) security policies and report incidents to appropriate operations functions and have excellent communication skills.
• You will be a professional and be customer oriented with customer facing experience
• You will be fluent in both Swedish and English
