Field Tools Synergy Specialist/Engineer Job Description

Introduction
The sector Customer Support (CS) is responsible for the maintenance, repair and continuous improvement of ASML systems at customer locations and supporting the customers in the use of these systems in their production process.
Competency Engineering is part of CS HVM Engineering in the Operations group. The CS HVM [Field Tools Synergy Specialist/Engineer] reports to the group lead CS HVM Engineering.

Job Description
In the role of Field Tools Synergy Specialist/Engineer you are the gatekeeper of (mechanical) Service tools. You control and maintain the process for blocking or releasing tools based on their product safety. You understand the operational/technical risks inherent to a wide variety of tools and are capable of acting accordingly. Your responsibilities include:

• Doing Risk Inventory and Evaluations on Safety.
• Checking evidences to confirm that tools conform to the latest regulations (Machine Directive, NEN Norms).
• Surface the right information from CE Declarations, Technical files, safety sessions and procedures.
• Organizing and leading multidisciplinary brainstorms with Safety experts to come to correct decisions.
• Creating exemption reports and issue documentation to help realize structural solutions.
• Securing and administrating approvals at the required levels.
• Diligence and process-adherence in the tool release process.

Field Tools Synergy Specialist/Engineer Job Requirements

Education
Bachelor Degree (HTS/Technical College) in a Technical / Mechanical Engineering area.

Experience
1-3 years of work experience in an engineering or customer support role.

Personal skills

• Concerned with Human Safety and Product Safety – You take safety as first and last priority!
• Keen insight in the technical properties, operations and risks of (mechanical) tools
• Capable of navigating technical documentation for evidences of conformity to safety standards
• Process-oriented; you do not take shortcuts
• Pro-active attitude and taking initiative
• Team player with excellent communication skills in a multicultural work environment
• Capable of speaking to stakeholders from various disciplines (Safety, Logistics, Engineering, etc.)
• Excellent verbal and writing skills in English.
• Dutch (native) speaker is a prerequisite
