Introduction
The D&E Optical Column department is part of the EUV sector of ASML. Its task is to develop and industrialize the imaging function for the Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines.
Job Mission
Candidate is responsible for development of optical performance improvements for the 0.33NA projection optics to cope with the high power upgrades of the EUV source.
Job Description
- Investigation of the various possibilities for the most effective optical performance improvement together with ASML projection architect, external suppliers SMT, Imaging experts, system engineering and Marketing. Solutions currently considered range from in situ mirror upgrades, introduction of deformable mirrors, to introducing scanning or stepping mirrors.
- You steer a multidisciplinary team of about 10 FTE depending on the development phase of the performance enhancement package, you create a detailed roadmap, set the performance and interface specifications, assess system impact, define the test and introduction plan, and report on the final performance with the help of the optical analysts and system performance projects. All in close collaboration with the project manager for .33NA optical performance who you support with triple constraint management: scope, budget and timing.
- Part of the job is to guide customer introduction. Which consist of supporting Marketing with customer communication, preparation of the upgrade with factory and customer support, all with the help of industrial engineering. And if needed: onsite trouble shooting of early prototypes.
- Key interfaces: the main projection optics architect, project manager for .33NA optical performance, external supplier's system engineers, industrial engineering department, system test and integration project.
Context of the positionThe holder of the position reports to the group lead of the Projection group and is operational within multidisciplinary projects. The Projection group is responsible for optimizing the imaging performance by providing the means and methods to improve projection optics.
