Senior Application Engineer Job Description

Introduction

• Do you master the entire patterning process and want to give guidance to junior Engineers?
• Do you want to help define the next generation of patterning systems?
• Would you like to work with the world’s leading patterning scientists and engineers?
• Do you want project management activities and drive your technical team towards creating the future?

• Support ASML customers with their current and future challenges in process development to efficiently produce devices with ever shrinking features.
• You need to identify strategies to stretch the lithography equipment and associated processes beyond its specification to deliver the customer the required on product performance.
• You need to cooperate with and drive the applicable ASML organization in order to come up with a solution that meets customer’s need.
• As Senior Application Engineer you will also be responsible for the organization of the project management activities and communication with Customer engineers as well as ASML engineers in the local offices.

• Work within the customer project team supporting the development and integration of solutions with the goal to meet customer requirements;
• Develop applicable competencies within the Application Engineering department: big data, statistics, analysis toolkits, lithographic processing and metrology;
• Own the day to day project management activities and drive a technical team towards integration of solutions with goal to meet our customer’s requirements
• You will give strategic guidance to junior engineers;
• Work on customer tools and in customer environment to proof own developed solutions to be beneficial for on product performance;
• Be able to drive new product definition by understanding customer requirements and position them within the customer production eco-system.

Senior Application Engineer Job Requirements

Education
Master degree in Physics, Mathematics or Engineering, preferably in the domain of nanotechnology, optics or semiconductor industry

Experience

• You have 8 to 10 years of experience in a semiconductor fab environment within the area of lithography, patterning and/or metrology. During these years you have gained experience and excellent process knowledge (able to provide insight in process information, front to back end processes). Especially in the domain of focus, overlay, imaging, metrology or process development.
• You might already have gained experience in project management skills or led and steered a small technical team. We are also open for applicants who show ability and willingness to learn this.
• You have proven to be excellent in stakeholder management and have demonstrated to perform under high pressure in a highly ambiguous environment while maintaining focus on customer goals and relationships.
• Your English language skills are excellent, both verbal as non-verbal.
• Experience with ASML XT,  NXT TWINSCAN and/or YIELDSTAR is a very big plus, however not an exclusion criteria.
