EUMETSAT is Europe’s meteorological satellite agency. Its role is to establish and operate meteorological satellites to monitor the weather and climate from space - 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This information is supplied to the National Meteorological Services of the organisation's Member and Cooperating States in Europe, as well as other users worldwide.
EUMETSAT also operates several Copernicus missions on behalf of the European Union and provide data services to the Copernicus marine and atmospheric services and their users.

As our observations from our satellites become more sophisticated, we are looking for two Ground Segment System Engineers to join our Systems Engineering and Projects team. This is an opportunity to ensure that EUMETSAT advances its state-of-the art ground systems to support our current and future missions.
This is an opportunity to support the definition of our ground segment requirements and to analyse, verify and test proposed changes, assessing their impact on the whole system. We support new ideas from our colleagues and partners, with a focus on innovation and emerging technologies. You will support the transition of newly developed ground segments into operations. You will work with our international partners to ensure that our interfaces are operational.

You will work with people who are experts in their field. We value diversity and seek to recruit nationals from our Member States. You must be able to work effectively in English and have some knowledge of French.
With a background in ground segment engineering gained in a 24/7 operational environment, ideally in Earth observation missions, you will have experience of managing projects and budgets across the development lifecycle.
You will understand the processes, standards, tools and methodologies used to verify and validate developments.
You will work with our international partners and colleagues, using your strong interpersonal and communication skills to interpret and present complex problems and solutions.
You will be core to defining the requirements for our future missions.
