The following list contains a broad range of activities which are covered by the Vision Technology & Expertise Group.
The successful candidate will be expected to perform different activities from the list, among others, at different times depending on the Group's requirements.
· Work with Vision Systems Group, R&D Manager and Business Development Managers and other relevant parties to help define Technology and Product Roadmaps for our client
· Work on customer demonstration vehicles to ensure they are equipped to the latest level of software and hardware and that they are calibrated and tuned for optimum Image quality
· Carry out component, product, application and vehicle level benchmarking activities and report findings to appropriate project teams
· Support Project Working Groups and Concept Studies where directed
· Support external research activities with Universities and other 3rd party research groups:
o The Connaught Automotive Research (CAR) Group in NUIG
o The Technical University of Munich (TuM)
· Perform research into new video technology, ideas, approaches, etc. to ensure the organisation remains abreast of all leading edge/emerging Vision Technologies.
· Support relevant and appropriate research into new process concepts that heavily influence product design approach and customer functionality
· Keep up to date with new standards and general market information in the Industry
· Work innovatively and creatively within the group with a particular focus on protecting innovation and IP through the patent process
Requirements:
· Degree in Electronic Engineering, Physics or equivalent · Experience in Imaging & Optics an advantage · Experience in s/w tools e.g. Matlab an advantage · High degree of innovation and creativity · Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal · High level of motivation and work ethic with an emphasis on practical, hands-on work · Automotive experience an advantage · Mindset of Continuous improvement Duties & Responsibilities
Other Duties · Represent the client at various Industry Working Groups e.g. Ertico and at Conferences · Develop relationships with the relevant Systems architects at our OEM customers with a view to influencing, or responding to, their needs. · Assist Business Dev. Dept with Feasibility Studies and support RFQ activities as required · Participate in Technology / Supplier / Tool Selection etc. for new development.
