Mechanical Engineer Job Description

Designing several types of machines and installations, training fellow drafters and executing multidisciplinary projects. Does that sound like a working environment that suits you? Commissioned by an engineering firm, Xelvin is looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer.The work place consists of 45 people including engineers in mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation. Some projects are done in-house, some at the customer's location. The engineering firm has 6 national offices in total. Each year 2.000 projects are carried out together with colleagues.A day in a Engineer's working lifeAs an Engineer you start your day between 7:00 and 9:00. Around 09:00 there is a team meeting and the progress of the project is discussed. Are there any questions addressed by the client? Are we going to meet the deadline for delivery? These are just a few questions that will be talked about during the daily consultations.You design and deliver your drawings to the client, who builds the machines and installations. You usually don't get to see a real-life result of your design. However, several times a year the best projects are visited by the department. This is the moment you do see the development of your designs.
