EUMETSAT is Europe’s meteorological satellite agency. Its role is to establish and operate meteorological satellites to monitor the weather and climate from space - 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This information is supplied to the National Meteorological Services of the organisation's Member and Cooperating States in Europe, as well as other users worldwide.
EUMETSAT also operates several Copernicus missions on behalf of the European Union and provide data services to the Copernicus marine and atmospheric services and their users.
As an intergovernmental European Organisation, EUMETSAT has 30 Member States (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom.)

As observations from our satellites become increasingly broadened, we are looking for an engineer to lead our team in developing and deploying network infrastructure, services and solutions for our current and emerging communication networks. This is an opportunity to ensure that EUMETSAT evolves its state-of-the art communications networks whilst ensuring availability, resilience and security in a 24/7 operational environment.

At EUMETSAT we operate and a fleet of satellites and payloads that support our mission. We therefore have experts in controlling satellites, and in parallel monitoring, delivering and interpreting the data that they produce for us. This information is used to forecast weather, sea surface temperatures and air quality. Our use of technology is vital to everyday life. You will bring your leadership skills to help our engineering team to focus on improving operational performance and to develop their skills to design, implement and deliver scalable network solutions. You will contribute to defining our roadmap, helping to translate the needs of our internal customers to enhance our ground segments for future satellite systems. Key to your success will be the management of service contracts and your ability to interact with suppliers of network products and services.
You will bring excellent communication and performance management skills, and have the ability to translate complex technical information into customer terminology. We are a fast paced, operational organisation, working closely with users and partners from industry and space agencies. You will need to be customer focused and have experience of working in a service driven environment.
