Team/division description:
Vehicle Performance Engineering division (VPE) is part of Research and Development group at Toyota Motor Europe Technical Center in Zaventem, Belgium. Our division is in charge of:
* Identifying customer requirements, and turning them into development targets for vehicles, their subsystems, up to each component.
* Developing of passenger vehicles for European market. We do:
* Plan vehicle structures to achieve the performance
* Predict the performance, especially by use of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE)
* Guide design engineers to achieve performance, while meeting quality, cost and feasibility requirements.
* Researching state of the art and beyond state of the art technologies for implementation in future vehicles
Model based development (MBD) has a pivoting and expanding role in Toyota. We are looking for an engineer specialized in vehicle dynamic performance to reinforce our capability in the vehicle performance MBD and latest simulation technologies. You will be introduced to the Toyota Way in vehicle development and you will take part in vehicle development activities; moreover you will be contributing to improve our MBD methodology.
Your responsibilities:
* Your primary responsibility will be vehicle performance development; as an MBD engineer, you will have a responsibility to understand vehicle dynamics related performance requirements and capture them into predictable and accurate simulation techniques.
* To fulfil your duties, you will have the responsibility to develop sutiable simulation models, considering available development information, field data and the application scope agreed with performance engineers. Morevoer, you will contribute to further develop the environment and the workflow to leverage effective model based development application, such as design of experiment and optimisation studies and in-the-loop simulation.
Profile
Your profile:
* Master degree in Engineering (mechanical, automotive or mechatronics)
* Outstanding records in Mathematics and Physics
* Good command of Matlab scripting and Simulink modelling
* Good knowledge of vehicle dynamics and related simulation tools (such as Dymola, MBS) is an asset
* Good knowledge of in-the-loop simulation (Driving simulator, HiLS, etc.) is an asset
* Knowledge of control logic and systems is an asset
* Good practical problem solving skills
* Flexible for training in Toyota headquarters in Japan (TMC)
* Fluency in English is a must, additional European language skills are an asset
