Our cheeses are true global citizens. From early on, they travelled beyond borders and celebrated international success. In 1931, the young Champignon Camembert, packed in tin cans, travelled on a steam ship all around Africa. The Champignon master cheesemakers sent the cheese on its way to observe the effects of changes in temperature and climate. The recipe proved itself and returned from the tropics immaculate and gently matured.
The experiment proved to be a good omen. Many Käserei Champignons brands are now market leaders both at home and abroad. In more than 50 countries around the world our cheeses stand for a special and versatile flavour of consistently high quality. We make sure that our cheeses taste good all over the world, just the way they do at home.
