Under the roof of Magna, we develop and produce drivetrain solutions for many of the most popular automotive brands
The Magna Powertrain product group Transmission Systems (TS) was founded as GETRAG Getriebe- und Zahnradfabrik in Germany in 1935, and has since then developed from a Swabian family enterprise to a global automotive supplier. We offer one of the world's largest portfolios of manual, dual-clutch and hybrid transmission systems for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. In order to cater to the specific needs of our customers, more than 16,300 employees within TS work at more than 20 manufacturing, product development and sales facilities on three continents – in close proximity to our customers and the local markets.
Three joint ventures are part of Transmission Systems: Getrag Ford Transmissions (GFT), founded in 2001 with Ford; Getrag (Jiangxi) Transmission (GJT), founded in 2007 with Jiangling Motors; and Dongfeng Getrag Transmission (DGT), founded in 2012 with Dongfeng Motor.
Since January 1st, 2016, we are part of Magna.
