Part of Romax Technology’s ongoing investment in R&D is to develop methodologies and concept designs for wind turbine drivetrains. An R&D Engineer is required to develop these design methods, criteria and models for designing drivetrains incorporating mechanical, electrical and control components. The role will involve developing design concepts for mechanical components such as the gearbox, mainframe and bearings as well as creating and protecting new IP which Romax develop in the course this work. Romax Technology regularly undertake consultancy projects for wind turbine manufacturers, drivetrain designers or turbine operators. The R&D Engineer will be required to contribute to and deliver these projects. These projects may involve modelling and analysis using Romax’s drivetrain simulation software, RomaxWIND.
